"...before we came."

This is Acrylic and iridescent/interference mediums...
there is much more green-gold, and bronze, copper, and emerald that the monitor of a computer just won't really show...
As for the title, it is definite mystical & historical appreciation to, for, and about the Native Americans; hence, the name "...before "WE" came.
I am an avid American Indian (both North and South) reader and history lover. This is a small token of one artists', one persons'
humble appreciation of their presence, way of life, and cultural
impact.
Though it seems we took everything when we took their land, I believe, a spirit as strong as theirs, will never, CAN never, be eradicated completely. They are in the wind, soil, trees, and memories; Memories that are slowly being remembered, and taught in schools across our country today.

It is gallery wrapped, back-stapled canvas- 36"x .75" x36" with a UV Protective Gloss varnish.

Certified of Authenticity by EBSQ.

  1. Julianne! It is wonderful! I really, really like it. A bit different from what you have been doing recently, but still could be in the same series!

I know just what you mean about getting the iridescent/inference and the other colors to show on the computer. I struggle with that, too.

But this is fabulous! There is a great deal of emotion here!

  4. hi colorspeaker Julianne!
I came here from Kim's blog, interesting what you said about artists group.
Your paintings are impressive, I love: an experiment in chaos, shadow eyes and many others, as well as the recent paintings which look very straight. Nice to meet you, Julianne,
    Greetings from Paris
