"Patches"

Just did this...may very well be "a work in progress....."

It is on 300lb 22"x30" rough paper.
Any comments are welcome...
I really like this New paper from Arches.... Large sizes, HEAVY enough to really lay down some paint. I gessoed both sides, the back once, the front twice. The edges are deckled. This paper is of very good quality; and expensive as well. I do like it, though. During the painting process, and after there was not a single curl or crinkle in this paper. I am sure the gesso made a big difference, even if it is heavy weight.

One thousand rainbows

More acrylic interference paints(Golden's Fluid interference acrylics) mixed with primary acrylics. This is on heavy 18"x24" paper with a UV protective gloss varnish. It also has a half inch white border around the entire piece. It is signed ,dated, and titled on the back of the piece.

"Trails of gold..."

Acrylic interference paints(Golden's Fluid) mixed with primary acrylic paints, which together created all sorts of tones and colors that I have (and am very inspired by) been experimenting with lately. This is on gallery wrapped, back-stapled canvas, finished with a UV protective gloss varnish. It is signed ,dated, and titled on the back of the piece. It is 16"x20" with 7/8" depth. It may not give its actual depth, or really show the lighter reflective tones on certain monitors. It can look quite a bit darker than it already is. But it the foundation is dark, which is new for me. I usually work lighter and build upon layers. Just trying new things....COA from Ebsq.

The Unknow IV

Somehow, I did not upload this painting which is part of the series I have mentioned in my blog. Probably just as well, as I kept adding a little bit there, and as little more here.
Anyway, chronologically this is the fourth in the series.
Sticking true to the conceptual style, it is acrylics on 18"x24" heavy paper, with a half inch white border around the entire piece. Finished with two coats of a UV protective gloss varnish. COA from EBSQ.
Each painting has its own unique version, but the tones -warm, rustic, earthy, as well as both linear and soft imagery are the ties that bind these pieces securely together , as well as an emotional component which began the process of "the series" to begin with. Perhaps more on that later....
But for now, I have another painting in my studio, in need of attention.
Any one moved to comment or ask a question, feel free.

"the Unknown V"

This is the fifth piece in a series of paintings, which are not "exact" in their likeness, but similar stylistically and in an emotionally conceptual collective, and it doesn't hurt that they have been well received and selling! Acrylic paint and mediums on 18"x24" heavy paper, with a half inch white border around entire painting. Then finished with a UV protective gloss varnish (two coats).Shimmering, rustic, and warm colors- and both linear and soft imagery in this layered abstract vision.

...Cast of characters...

This is Acrylic interference/iridescent mediums on paper, w/ a half inch white border around entire piece...This is by far quite a departure for me in many ways...and then oddly comforting in the characters,
perhaps "exhumed" just for this little garden "party..."

"angel's Fist II"

This took the longest of all the recent paintings i have just uploaded...It actually was another painting I had done, and just disliked-and yes, it is even on my blog, and not long before these; It had rustic and lots of orange, and it's name was....have you guessed it yet? So, I painted two coats of Gesso and re-worked it, and I still don't quite, well, I am my rarely satisisfied.
however, color and tone wise, I am enjoying working greens and blues, and then copper and gold iridescent mixed in. Also , I have been experimenting with the glazing medium, which mixes which everything, if you use a clear, or "pearl" color.
This piece is on gallery wrapped, back-stapled, 30"x30" with 7/8" depth and doulbe wood reinforcements on the back of the canvas frame.
It is finished with a UV orotective gloss varnish. The COA (cerificate of athenticity) is from EBSQ. All purchases of my paintings come with this document. Purchasing info:

a remedy for injury

Another one of the several paintings I have produced this past week-it's title was going through my mind with each brush stroke, every line, and semi-circle. Finally, standing back from it late last night, I was melancholy yet grateful at the same time. No quick fix can take away what life's curves that cause pain will do, but in that uncertainty of a world that can seem at times cruel and without purpose, I have the only reprieve I have every known, creativity. It is, for me, the only thing that is certain.
Acrylic on canvas 30"x30" 7/8" depth. Gallery wrapped, back-stapled, sides painted, and ready to hang "as is." Finished with two coats of UV protective gloss varnish. This painting holds many emotions and was made with intense purpose. It is a reflection (one can only hope) of movement, change, the silence, the HOWL, and somewhere, within the tones and curves, is me.

The angel's FIST

The second painting of the series "Color Refuge." I gave its own title because, well, just because. It is 9"x12" on paper, finished with the UV gloss varnish...I have a few more drying. It is so good to be out of my creative "slump." It seemed to go on for ever, but two weeks does seem like an eternity when you would prefer to be painting, and painting, and did I say painting?

Color Refuge I

This is the first of a series of three paintings, all on canvas, 9"x 1.5"x 12."
Abstract and without a "focal point," they are simply a blank canvas and then I just paint what comes to mind. Sometimes, it is good for me to think less and just "do."
They are 75.00 a piece, or 150.00 for all three; that is, of course when they are all done and posted.
All of my paintings are finished with a quality UV protective gloss varnish. COA from EBSQ.

The Unknown II

This is a painting inspired by a painting-"the unknown" only it is just similar, I took this a bit further than the former one. It is on rough 300lb 22"x33" high quality deckled edge paper, with a half inch of white border that was taped off during the painting. It is acrylic with a gloss uv protective varnish.
Even I like it-and I don't believe I have ever said that about one of my own paintings....Perhaps it was just the most fun I have had at my easel in a while.
18"x24" $200.00 SOLD
