You have done it again, Julianne! This reminds me of so many influences...there is clearly the Rothko feel, but I am also seeing a symbol for transportation (the circle) and within that repose along with the earth crying out to stop the burning.
The colors and textures are so rich and appealing!
I have another one just like it (nearly identical) almost finished-it was the first painting I ever sold, and the most often requested-but as an original. The first one ("earth at rest I") is always the "best"- at least to me-sort of a "happy accident" that has character.
