It's a New Year, and I have painted daily, and often nightly, throughout much of the former year. Finding my own style was my Number one goal, and then making it as much my own as the signature of my name. I am closer to my goal, but not close enough for this artist, not by a long shot. I hope to bring fresh new challenging work in the coming months, and I have you as I my witness. Julianne Richards "the Colorspeaker"

...and earth is in real need at the moment!
You have done it again, Julianne! This reminds me of so many influences...there is clearly the Rothko feel, but I am also seeing a symbol for transportation (the circle) and within that repose along with the earth crying out to stop the burning.
The colors and textures are so rich and appealing!
As Always Excellent, Julianne!
I have another one just like it (nearly identical) almost finished-it was the first painting I ever sold, and the most often requested-but as an original. The first one ("earth at rest I") is always the "best"- at least to me-sort of a "happy accident" that has character.
On another note, I enjoyed your blog posts; artwork and notes-Nice work, Lady!!
love ya,
Julianne
